Last week from LadywellPrendergastFieldsCollege on their third Safe Haven Walk this year, to shops in Brockley, CroftonPark and Honor Oak. Jimmy Mizen’s father The police, Father Bates, TurnhamSchool and DalmainSchool all joined Prendergast students.
> Walk number one was to ask shops to sign up to a scheme which aimed to support students who may become victims of bullying or violence by offering them a safe Haven and calling the police.
> Walk number two was to actually sign up shopkeepers that had signed up to the Projectand many of them did.
> Walk number three was to thank all those shopkeepers that had signed up to the Project by giving them a flower.
Students aim to develop good working relationships with the community as a way of breaking down some of the poor perceptions of young people in the community.
